‘Two Sides To Every Story,’ the criminally long out-of-print solo album from Gene Clark, a founding member of the Byrds, on CD.

Remastered version of the 1977 RSO album features absolutely stunning sound, that will thrill Clark enthusiasts, as its last brief appearance on CD was of lacklustre sound quality, that was an injustice to a songwriter as distinguished as Clark.

‘Two Sides’ features seven Clark originals, and three covers. From the country-rocking “Kansas City Southern,” to the achingly, melancholy, strings-and-synthesizer-draped “Sister Moon.” The album was produced by Thomas Jefferson Kaye who also produced Clark’s masterpiece ‘No Other,’ and features Doug Dillard (The Byrds, Dillard Clark) on banjo, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell) on guitar and Emmylou Harris on backing vocals.

Press:

“His voice was a world of its own, strong and fragile at the same ti me. Clark seemed to have a direct line on a certain melancholy that make the heart turn backflips... There are seven originals here, showing the Missouri-born man had lost none of his songwriting gift s, and his cover of “In the Pines” stands as a California country classic.” - Morton Report

“Extra tracks, rare photos and detailed liner notes help make this the definitive version of a lost and nearly forgotten gem.” - American Songwriter.

“This is Clark at the height of his poetic powers, wading deep into the psyche of desire, enlightenment and redemption.” - UNCUT

Tracks: Home Run King / Lonely Saturday / In The Pines / Kansas City Southern / Give My Love To Marie / Sister Moon / Marylou / Hear The Wind / Past Addresses/ Silent Crusade
