Alan Price Set – Twice The Price : The Decca Recordings

Alan Price quit The Animals in 1965 and embarked on a solo career backed by his own band The Alan Price Set on the Decca label. He was immediately successful with a string of chart hits: ‘I Put A Spell On You’ (#9), ‘Hi Lili Hi Lo’ (#11), ‘Simon Smith And His Amazing Dancing Bear’ (#4), ‘The House That Jack Built’ (#4) and ‘Don’t Stop The Carnival’ (#13).

Two albums ‘The Price To Play’ (1966) and ‘A Price On His Head’ (1967) were recorded and both are presented individually in this package along with a third disc containing every non-album single A-side and B-side recorded for Decca in that period 1965-1969.
